Crime Prevention Advisory Board

The Crime Prevention Advisory Board (CPAB) was formed in 2003 as a result of City Council’s recognition of crime concerns within the community. The CPAB was created to bring together community organizations who expressed interest in a crime prevention strategy.

The CPAB is made up of a cross-section of interested individuals coming from many different walks of life. We have representation from the community, Selkirk Community Renewal Corporation, Selkirk COPP, Selkirk Community Policing, and City of Selkirk Council.

We provide, partner, or assist with a variety of programs in Selkirk, including:  Afterschool Drop-in Programs, Summer Explorer’s Program, STAR Day Camp, and our Anti-Graffiti Program.

Citizens on Patrol

Citizens on Patrol is a crime prevention program where community members act as extra “eyes and ears” for the community and local law enforcement.
The goal is to improve safety in the community through deterrence, education and awareness.

This program provides a safe and anonymous way for the people of Manitoba to pass on information to local police agencies. Tipsters can report information about any non-urgent illegal activity.
