Water Tower Park is located at 370 Jemima St in the heart of Selkirk. This recreation hotspot surrounds the Selkirk Curling Club, Selkirk Arena, Memorial Hall and City’s iconic Water Tower. During the winter the Outdoor Rink offers free public skating and is a great way to get the whole family active in the cold weather.
Throughout the years, Water Tower Park has hosted a number of activities and programs including the Play Zone. The Play Zone is a structured and supervised environment which promotes inclusion and fun for all abilities through a variety of planned activities. These activities include sport skill development, outdoor games and fun crafts. This program is free of charge to Selkirk residents and runs July and August.
Since 2019 the City of Selkirk in partnership with Community in Bloom, Selkirk Home Hardware, The Flower Child and the Selkirk Record has been offering free garden plots to Selkirk residents. By offering these community garden plots, Selkirk is able to provide excellent opportunities for locally-grown produce to those who are not able to grow their own food at home. The 32 raised beds are available on a first come, first served basis. Plot reservation are available at the beginning of each year and are announced on social media.
