In response to rapidly rising cases of COVID-19, the City of Selkirk will be moving to Level 3 of its Covid-19 Business Continuity Plan and Response Strategy, effective immediately.
Below is what you can expect:
The City of Selkirk Civic Office will remain closed to the public until further notice.
Please note that most city services can be conducted online or over the phone.

The Selkirk Recreation Complex will remain at 50% capacity and will follow all public health guidelines for both the facility and programming while programming is still in place.
User groups: Please note that it is your responsibility to keep your registrants and or members updated as our response and the province’s response could change rapidly.
Bookings for the Rec Complex Banquet Hall and Memorial Hall will be suspended until further notice.
The outdoor rink will open early January and will remain open (weather depending) with benches outside, however the Kin Centre will be closed until further notice. (Was set to open January 4th but is behind schedule due to staffing shortages).
The utility employees will enter homes for emergent situations and final readings only. Residents are required to conduct a pre-screening prior to City staff entering their home and should avoid contact with staff while the conduct work whenever possible. All other appointments will be rescheduled.
Selkirk Transit and Mobility will remain at 50% capacity with socially distanced seating.

As we monitor the rapidly rising cases of COVID-19 we want the public to know that the City may increase our preparedness level to Level four (4) should we have a significant reduction in staff due to infection spread. This could happen without notice and may have the following impacts:
- Recreation facilities may close with programming and bookings cancelled. User groups will be contacted by a CRGT staff member should this occur.
- Response times may take longer than usual
- Delay in city services such as snow removal and park maintenance
- By-Law Enforcement Officers may respond to emergency situations only
- Suspension or temporary interruption to non-critical services.
