Stay Safe while you make a Splash this Summer!

Warm summer weather makes people across Manitoba think about staying cool. Year after year, people flock to swimming pools and natural bodies of water across the province to get wet and beat the heat. Unfortunately, that also means that every year we see a spike in drowning deaths. The Lifesaving Society designates the third week in July (July 21-27, 2024) as National Drowning Prevention Week (NDPW) to focus community and media attention on the drowning problem and drowning prevention. This year, the City of Selkirk will be offering free programming such as life-jacket fittings, swim lessons, and a contest as part of this national initiative. View details and registration below.
