In 2022 the City of Selkirk was chosen as one of eleven (11) communities to participate in the Manitoba governments Community Safety and Wellbeing (CSWB) Pilot project.
Funding assistance for this project has been provided by the Government of Manitoba through the Manitoba Community Safety and Wellbeing Planning Project for the development of a CSWB Plan in the City of Selkirk.
Since then, key stakeholders in Selkirk with leadership from the Canadian Centre for Safer Communities (CCFSC) have been working together to identify available programming, current gaps and identify ways that groups can work together to support residents and support community safety and wellbeing.
Citizen engagement is an important aspect to this project and as such we had a survey that was available to take until July 31, 2024. The survey is now closed.

Citizen Engagement

Why is Citizen Participation important?

We want to hear from you! It is important that we hear from all members of our community about their thoughts on the community’s overall wellbeing.
This is to ensure that:

  • The project captures perspectives from the wide range of demographics that live and access services in Selkirk.
  • Residents are able to identify their unique perspective on safety in their specific area as well as Selkirk as a whole.
  • Identify area, issues, or ideas that might not have been identified by the stakeholders.

How Can I have Participated?

There are many ways you could have participated in this survey including:

  • Filling out the online survey (now closed).
  • Attending the Selkirk Civic Office at 200 Eaton Ave to get a paper copy of the survey (no longer available).
