The City of Selkirk’s after-school program is a free program for residents of Selkirk currently in Grade 1 – Grade 6, running weekdays from 3:30-5:30 pm. This supervised program provides school-aged children with safe after-school care, a healthy snack, outdoor activities, fun games and so much more! At the program, participants will socialize, complete homework, play with friends and be physically active outside of regular school hours.

- Mondays & Wednesdays: Centennial School & Daerwood School
- Tuesdays & Thursdays: Robert Smith School & Ruth Hooker School
- Fridays: École Bonaventure
- Session 1: October 16-December 20, 2024
- Session 2: January 6-March 28, 2025
- Those that register are automatically enrolled in both sessions, no need to re-register.
- Program Time: 3:30 – 5:30 pm
This program does not run on In-Service Days (Instead register for our Camp Awesome Day Camps) or Snow/Weather closure days.
Participants may only attend the program location in which they attend classes at. Participants will not be able to walk over from other schools to attend the program at a different school. Each family may only register for one school per child.
Cost: Free – City of Selkirk Residence ONLY. Proof of residency is required at checkout.

Registration Dates: Registration for this program will re-open on January 7, 2025. Participants that registered during session 1 do NOT need to re-register for session 2.

What to Except
Here is a breakdown of what we will be doing at the program each day:
- 3:30-3:45 – Welcome, settle into space and ice breakers
- 3:45-4:00 pm – Healthy Snack (provided by City of Selkirk)
- 4:00-4:30 pm – Quiet Stations: Children will have the opportunity to work on home work or in small stations/groups to enjoy some fun, yet educational activities.
- 4:30-5:30 pm – Activity Time: Enjoying group games/activities in the gym our outside. Arts/crafts, etc.
