Tower Tap Lager

Selkirk is excited to announce the launch of Tower Tap Lager, a city brew created in collaboration with Torque Brewing. The beer is the first Selkirk-developed craft beer available on the market, expertly capturing the spirit and pride of the community in a light, refreshing lager.

Brewed using Selkirk’s award-winning water – Tower Tap brings a unique product to our local market (if only for a limited time). It’s light and easy-going with some added hops to give the beer a sweet, pineapple-like characteristic.
The beer is approx. 4.8% alcohol.

Why was the name Tower Tap chosen?

The nod to the water tower was chosen for a few reasons – one being that it is an icon of Selkirk – something people think of when they think Selkirk. And of course, the tap makes for a pretty cool looking handle!

Where can I get Tower Tap Lager?

The launch Party for Tower Tap took place at the Selkirk Legion on September 7th from 6-8pm. There were four kegs available and we sold out of all of them in the two-hour event!
Torque is working with local establishments to see if there is interest in carrying the beer for a short duration this fall (2024). Stay Tuned Here!
The City and Torque are calling this a “pilot project” to see how the community responds and enjoys the beer. If successful, a potential continuation in 2025 is possible.

Will there be any other beer collaborations after this?

We’re always looking at new innovative ways to use Selkirk water, so you never know… stay tuned to see if we partner on another beer.

Does Selkirk have a microbrewery?

Not at tis time, but we’re hoping that this is the beginning of a brewing culture in Selkirk. Maybe this collaboration will inspire others in the community to open a craft brewery, right here in Selkirk?
