The Selkirk Park Pool & Splash Pad opening will be delayed until the second week in July.
One of the 24 outlet pipes under the asphalt surface split after the pool was filled with water in preparation for the season opening on June 23. The pipe has since been repaired and further inspection of all pipes with a scoping camera revealed no additional cracks.
We are currently completing resurfacing. When the new surface is set, refilling of the pool, which takes about a week, will begin.
Manitoba Health will provide final approval before the pool reopens.
The first session of swimming lessons was scheduled for July 2-13, and it has been rescheduled. All participants have been contacted and those who cannot attend on the new dates will receive a full refund. Subsequent lesson dates will not be affected.
Anticipated opening is now July 11, weather permitting.
