We regret to inform the public that the Selkirk Park Pool & Splash Pad opening will once again be delayed until further notice.
Staff have been working around the clock to get the pool open after a previous delay in passing heath inspection due to an inoperable chlorinator and a broken line. Unfortunately, after refilling the pool and upon inspection on July 10th, staff observed large quantities of wet sand surrounding the pool. What has prevented the July 11th opening is the possibility of a leaking skimmer line that runs to the main line and additional leaks and pressure cracks due to aging infrastructure.
Repairs are currently taking place and we anticipate the pool being refilled within 48 hours.
The Water Department and Parks and Recreation staff are working long hours in hopes to have the pool ready for the weekend. Please follow our website and social media channels for updates.
