The City is continuing to monitor the water levels locally while also participating in daily teleconferences with Manitoba Emergency Measures.
Water levels are expected to continue rising over the weekend but are anticipated to remain well within what we are currently prepared for. The flood risk for Selkirk remains low.
We will be keeping a close eye on these levels all weekend long and will provide updates if needed.
Should it be required, we still have one more dyke to fill in behind the Gordon Howard Centre at the Waterfront. This could happen on Monday or sooner if required.
We would like to remind Citizens to avoid the river banks and to not approach the waters’ edge as the water is moving fast and is very cold.
