Please be advised that due to an ongoing gopher hole problem on the recreation fields, the city has hired Poulin’s to eradicate the gophers from this area commencing Wednesday, August 18th. The local Conservation branch has been contacted and they are in support of this decision.
There is growing concern that the fields are becoming dangerous to players and causing what can be permanent damage to the grounds.
The pesticide used is called Rozol Field and is applied directly into the holes. It is safe for adults and children to be around, however it can be poisonous to wildlife and pets.
This process takes on average two weeks but can take longer. We ask that as long as the signs are up, please keep your pets off of the grounds and in instances where that is not possible, please keep them on a leash away from the holes.
