**EDIT** – the boil water advisory was lifted at 4:35 on Saturday, September 21 and all those affected received notification.
Please be advised that a water shut off and boil water advisory will be affecting a specific, small area of Selkirk beginning Friday, September 20, 2024.
This advisory is only applicable to Westgrove Bay and 221 Mercy Street (Lord Selkirk Regional Comprehensive Secondary School).
All those in the localized area are being notified individually with informationas this does not impact the whole city.
As a result of necessary valve repair work, the watermain servicing this area will be depressurized and water will be shut off from 8am-5pm on Friday, September 20, 2024.
Once the repair work is complete, new provincial regulations state that a boil water advisory must be in effect as a precautionary measure. This will remain in effect until additional testing is complete. That work is anticipated to take place by 5pm on Monday, September 23, 2024.
Residents outside of Westgrove Bay and 221 Mercy Street are not affected by this shut off or advisory and can continue their water usage as normal.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
