Please be advised that this week the Utilities division will be flushing and inspecting hydrants throughout Selkirk.
Throughout this process, it is possible that you may notice a temporary discolouration in your water. The rust-like colour is caused by iron and other mineral deposits being stirred up and does not pose a health risk.
At times, the hydrants will be left unattended. This is normal and part of our maintenance routine.
The water will remain safe to drink and use.
