Helping citizens make good choices is a goal of the By-Law Enforcement Division. An individual’s actions can have a significant impact on the people surrounding them. By being a good neighbor and having respect for one another’s boundaries, people can live in harmony in a peaceful environment.
Noise Nuisance
Is any loud, unnecessary or any sound whatsoever which either annoys, disturbs, injures, endangers or distracts from the comfort, repose, health, peace or safety of any person.
Operating or permitting the operation of any power tool, snowblower, or similar device used outdoors which creates a noise nuisance on weekdays between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. the following day or on Saturdays and Sundays and statutory holidays before 9:00 a.m. and after 10:00 p.m.
The clearing of snow on private parking lots, Monday to Saturday inclusive between the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 12 midnight.
It is recommended that you become familiar with the Noise and Nuisance By-Law before alleging a violation.
