Reinventing the Steel – Custom Metal Art and Design
There’s an old saying that warns us all about reinventing the wheel – good advice, when an original idea needs no tinkering.
Reinventing the Steel, however, is a great idea and Petersfield’s Devin Gagnon will be showing off his custom metal works at the New Selkirk Waterfront Farmer’s Market this month, which runs in conjunction with the City of Selkirk’s D.O.G Days of Summer, presented by the Selkirk Record and sponsored by Sunova.
Gagnon, who started his side business last year, makes everything from decorative fire pits and signs to fun and eye-catching yard pieces.
His original designs come to life first on his computer and are then rolled out in steel. He’s a passionate artist who takes pride in his own designs, but will tackle ideas that come from your imagination as well.
“I can do custom or I have stand alone, generic pieces that I stock,” Gagnon said.
“If someone comes up to me with an idea I can quote on it.”
D.O.G Days of Summer, which features food vendors and entertainment, runs every Wednesday in August at the Selkirk Waterfront from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The New Selkirk Waterfront Market, which will feature approximately 20 vendors, runs Wednesdays in August from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., also at the Waterfront.
