Selkirk Transit Authority will once again offer free transit service on Nov. 11, Remembrance Day, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Selkirk Transit will provide this special service to the public every half hour, rather than hourly, with the inclusion of an additional stop in front of the Recreation Complex.
It’s a special service Selkirk Transit provides, with service every half hour, with the inclusion of an additional stop at the front of the Recreation Complex, where the Remembrance Day service will be held.
Charlene Dunning, Selkirk Transit Authority’s Manager of Transportation Services, said they’ve been providing the free service for several years and do it out of respect for Veterans.
“We think it’s important that everyone has the opportunity to attend the Remembrance Day service and if providing a free ride helps with that, we’re more than happy to do it,” Dunning said. “Selkirk Transit believes building community is important, and providing free service on Remembrance Day is an important part of that.”
The Remembrance Day Service begins at 10:30 a.m.
